FUNCTIONS & OBJECTIVES OF G.N.M.C

  1. Development and promoting of Natural Medicine: To develop, establish and maintain standard of professional Ethics and conduct of in the profession of Natural Medicine.
  2. Establishing Training Center(s) with approved syllabus for would –be practitioners of Natural medicine.  To conduct professional examination in the various fields Natural Medicine healing.
  3. A part from education, research and professional development GNMC will evaluate various healing modalities and their relevance and efficacy in our environment offering thereby Consultancy Services to natural and herbal medicine providers.

 

Natural Medicine is a philosophy of healthcare which recognizes the importance of physical, emotional and spiritual factors in health and disease. This modality is not limited to any particular specialty or type of treatment. It encompasses a wide variety of conventional and complementary therapies, while emphasizing education, personal responsibility and co-operative between patient and practitioner.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has supported, promoted and assisted the development of Traditional & Alternative Medicine in the bid to move Africa’s health agenda forward, particularly for the less –developed countries of the world.  This philosophy was reinforced at the Alma –Ata Declaration of 1978 on primary health care, noting that majority of the developing countries of the world were to provide adequate healthcare delivery for their populations using less costly conventional health regimes .

FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE COUNCIL

  • Organize annual Public Lectures, Conferences apart from the quarterly General Meetings.
  • Develop and present continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs.
  • Research, development and evaluation of modalities and products.
  • Help Natural health facilities improve their healthcare.
